Algernon Cadwallader

Yeah, yeah, we know. These guys are on numerous blogs since they're so fucking fantastic, but here at Cut & Paste we recognize sweet bands, even if they're spread all over the internet already. Algernon Cadwallader called it quits officially last August, which saddened all their fans. They were sooo catchy and a real treat to see live. I'll never forget the energy and positive vibes Algernon gave when they played. You'll be missed Algernon Cadwallader. Their discography is below if you don't have it already.

Baby Boy

Baby Boy were (are?) a band that has no limits when it comes their music. Their style is dark with elements of metal, post rock, and even indie at times. Currently they only released a tour CD in 2010 which was supposed to be released as a split with the band, Small Bones. Other than that, I can't find any info on them. It be pretty rad to see another release from them since they're so awesome, but for now, peep their tour CD.

There Were Wires

There Were Wires was an amazing band from Massachusetts that played emotional hardcore in the early 00's and went on to form some pretty sweet bands. Most of you most likely have this, but I thought they deserved a spot on our blog. The missing releases have only two or three songs I can't track down, so if anyone has links hook it up, please. Download for the memories.

Missing Releasing:
Split 7" with Moment
Nothing...Lipstick, A Little Blood 7"

SPAZZ

Picture of Spazz
Redwood City, CA's Spazz should be known by any fan of hardcore punk.  Formed in 1992, this trio completed defined American powerviolence as everyone knows, or should know by now.  Spazz wrote masterfully chaotic tracks all throughout the nineties and influenced pretty much every punk and grind-nut across the globe.  These guys were fast, aggressive and without-a-doubt fun as hell.  These classics have been carefully collected and posted below for all of you that may have missed out on this epic band.  Snag everything below, take notes & DIG!

HELLNATION

1996 Dayton punk fest HELLNATION
RE-POST!  Kentucky's Hellnation is a unrelenting force of no-holds-barred grinding fastcore.  Formed back in 1988, this trio has been slaying fans with an incredibly angry and hyper mix of nonstop punk riffs drenched in distortion, muddy, low-tuned bass and rapid-speed blasts of drum insanity!  The drummer leads the vocals, but all three members share the duties for the most part.   Hellnation sadly broke up in 2010 after releasing an insane amount of material and devoting to a slew of tours through the U.S., Japan, Europe & Brazil.  These guys are ridiculously intense and mind-blowing to this day!  Groundbreaking and most definitely influential to any genre of punk and grind.  Below I gathered up everything I could possibly find from these dudes.  DIG!!!

Coping

Coping was only a band for two years, but they wrote some amazing music during their existence. They fall in the indie genre since they do a lot of noodling and twinkling in their songs, which is always  a pleasure to hear. Their debut, Lawndale is a little rough compared to their last release, NOPE but it's cool to hear a band progress so much in only two years. Find out for yourself and snag their discography below.

Dustheads

Brooklyn's Dustheads played straight up 80's inspired punk with dark aspects of riffy hardcore. These guys were fast, right to the point, and not afraid to take risks with the genre. Below is their discography,  Collected Sounds. Snag it and indulge in some thrashy glory sprinkled with tasty riffage.

Slavestate

Slavestate was an unrelenting powerviolence outfit from Buffalo, NY that only existed for two short years.  These guys played with pure, grind-fueled rage.  Their sound was unstoppable with hyper-speed drum blasts, stop-start buzzsaw riffs, sloppy, fuzzed-drenched bass and utterly ferocious vocals.  Slavestate later changed their name to Pneumatic Values and again to Avulsion.  Snag their entire discography below and bang your head to these angry classics.  Dig.

Meatlocker

Rare live performance. (Pic by Harry Layzell) in Meatlocker by
Three Australians living in London scooped up a like-minded Brit to shout his brains out in Meatlocker.  These guys and girl cranked out a killer full length, played 3 shows in the UK,  headed back to Australia and tore the scene apart.  Their LP is absolutely nuts!  It's rough hardcore punk loaded with harsh, strained vocals, thrash drenched chords, tasty guitar leads, fuzzed-out bass and ridiculous drum action that's filled with endless crashing cymbals and non-stop fills.  This is fast, ugly, dirty, beefed-up and in your face.  Snag this little gem below.  Dig.
