Gaucho

Gaucho is a menacing punk band from Toronto that features members of S.H.I.T.  These dudes spit out raw and primitive pogo-punk that's gritty and driving with ugly guitar chords, thumping drums and barking vocals.  Their demo from a while back had me stoked for so much more and they finally followed it up with a raging new 7".  Snag these jams now.  Dig.

Drugs Of Faith

Virginia's own Drugs Of Faith are a super-heavy, down-tuned, sludgy mix of good old grindcore that will rock your bloody socks off!  Richard "The Grindfather" Johnson (Enemy Soil, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, etc..) absolutely shreds on guitar creating some awesome grind-rock riffs and his vocals are always fitting for any project he graces.  These blasting tracks will leave you wanting more.  Below is everything I could find from them including their most recent split with Cloud Rat!  Enjoy this heavy shit. Dig.

Amputee

New Jersey's Amputee delivered face-melting punk-fused grindcore.  Their mixture of violent guitar shredding, muddy bass rhythms, blasting drum work and guttural howls always stood out within the congested genre.  These guys were insanely good and I read somewhere that they finished recording for a future split with Triac.  I'm saddened to say that the band's bassist (also of Chainsaw To The Face fame) had recently lost his life and I'm not sure where they'll go from here as a band.  My heart goes out to his friends and family.  Listen to the memories below and dig.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania's Eel creates an ugly concoction of grimey noise-not-music-pogo-punk.  This aural chaos consists of noise drenched riffs, muddled bass fuzz, stomping drums and ugly vocals soaked in reverb and feedback.  These guys hit you like a chainsaw to the skull.  Snag everything I could find below and dig.

Facade

Facade hails from Montreal and creates some utterly intense and unapologetic hardcore punk delivered at break-neck speeds.  This barrage of ripping material hits fucking hard and takes you on a wildly aggravated ride.  These guys dropped one hell of a demo this year and hopefully stick around to spit out more solid jams.  Facade is mean, period.  Snag below and dig.

Black Gust

Black Gust is a ripping hardcore punk band that's as refreshing as they are energetic.  Mad fun punk jams described as... "a mutant fusion of good old 80’s hardcore and garage punk drenched in gloomy riffs accompanied by snotty vocals & bitter lyrics. These fuck-ups have been compared to the Adolescents, RKL, “mid to late era” Poison Idea, Turbonegro and some “newer” bands such as Annihilation Time, Night Fever and Leathervein.”  Their debut 7" and 3 song cs are insanely addictive and definitely awesome to say the least.  The dude behind the Teenage Lobotomy Blog and the kick-ass Doomtown Records jams his face off in this band as well.  Crank, support, repeat and dig.

Malcontent

Malcontent is a solo project constructed by Kevin Annand (Chain Rank & Preskool Dropouts) that oozes with meaty, distorted, mid-80's hardcore inspiration.  Massive riffs, squealing leads, thunderous drums and guttural grunts make this demo an instant stand-out so far this year.  Snag this beast below and dig!

Death Side

Death Side is a classic Japanese hardcore powerhouse that existed from 1987 to 1994.  The band reformed in 2015 and played their first US gigs ever to my understanding.  These guys have crafted absolutely ripping hardcore punk that will continue to hold up strong after the passing years.  This blazing material is timeless so snag below and dig.

Cave State

California's Cave State is a ripping and destructive powerviolence outfit that absolutely slays.  Their demo and debut 7" were crushing displays of maniacally energized fastcore and the band's most recent 7" shows that these dudes really mean fucking business.  This stuff is intense, hard-hitting and frantically delivered.  Snag everything below and dig.
