Advocate

Rhode Island's Advocate (not THE Advocate) were a seriously underrated metallic hardcore band.  Pulverizing drums and sludgy bass mend with eerie, crunchy diminished guitar thrashing.  The vocals are harsh and edgy which compliments the band's overall sound of brutality.  They're creativity and blended influences of crust and grind work wonders for this powerhouse from Providence.  I don't know much about these dudes other than the fact that they're made up of ex-Backstabbers Incorporated members.  The only releases I could find from them is their 2003 full length entitled "From Soil Laced With Lyme"  that absolutely tears shit up, their Self Titled 7" and a single track titled "Helter Skelter" that was featured on the People Don't Take Photographs Of Things They Want To Forget Comp. 7"  Download all of this now, it's nuts!  DIG.
