San Francisco's Deafheaven are definitely one of a kind. Starting out as a two-piece studio project, the original duo got raving reviews after their Demo EP was released to the public. Shortly after their demo, they decided to take it to the next level and recruited more members to play live. They have a lot of different styles of harder music in their songs, but the two types that shine the most are black metal and experimental/ambient. Both aggressive and beautiful in a single song, Deafheaven's music is epic and powerful. Not bad since they've only been around a year. Their current discography is below, but it's not nearly enough to fill my appetite. Hopefully we'll see more from Deafheaven in the future.
