Maryland's Sokushinbutsu is a powerful onslaught of crusty, sludgy, grinding death metal made up of ex-Lapse and Eddie Brock members. These barbarians dropped a nasty EP this year that I'm finally getting the chance to share my thoughts on. This band is brutal as hell! Their debut release is a beast filled with crunchy riffs, massive grooves, down-tuned bass fuzz, heavy blasting drums and gut-cramping vocals.
