Death Evocation

The Boston area's Death Evocation is a fierce and beefed up blend of crossover metallic hardcore that will split the earth's crust.  These heavy hitters blend gargantuan riffs with loud, war-like drums, girthy bass and vicious female fronted vocals.  Similar to some older European metal and punk complete with chugs and epic guitar solos that's sure to impress.  Download their Self Titled 7" below and DIG!

King Generator

King Generator is a thrashy hardcore punk super-group consisting of former and current members of such acts as Anodyne, Versoma, Tombs, Shank, Municipal Waste, Discordance Axis, Human Remains and so many more.  This trio has blessed us only with a single-sided LP that rips so hard.  It's a mean, raw, fast, dirty and super-rad 8 minutes of violent hardcore bliss that's rowdy as all hell.

Iron Age

My Photos by

Iron Age is a brutally awesome crossover thrash/hardcore monster from Texas.  Loaded with endless amounts of monumental riffs, thunderous drums, super-down-tuned bass and howling vocals that will make you bang your head through the wall with a smile on your face.  It's straight-up shredding, thrashing, growling, shrieking and jammin' like fuckin' pro's!  Discography's Below.....Dig.

Call Her Alaska

These guys were nothing close to your everyday run of the mill indie band. Their songs have Catchy and pretty parts with soft mesmerizing vocals throughout, but Call Her Alaska throw in edgier hooks along with some harsher singing. It's a little bit of everything for anyone who takes the time to listen, and they're just as tight live. When you were at a CHA show, you needed to do two things: grab a friend and sing-along. The first 7 tracks is their self-titled EP, and the last two are vocal demos. CHA has a couple of acoustic versions of the EP songs floating around, but I'm pretty sure this is every song they wrote. Huge thanks goes out to Cam from Old Gray for hooking me up with these tracks.

*First vocal demo track is "Windows Down" and "Ala Away" combined, and it's just a little rougher than the final version. The last track is "36 Hours", a song CHA never re-recorded afterward, which is also a little rougher than the EP songs.

HAVE FUN

Have Fun (2007-2009)
Have Fun is a shotgun blast of good ole' powerviolence hailing from Manchesney Park, IL.  Only lasting from 2007-2009, these dudes spit out some classic rippers in vein of Infest and Crossed Out.  These jams are non-stop, aggressive, angry and all-around fun.  I posted everything I could find from them below.  DIG!

Pennines

Time for something real twinkly. UK's Pennines play some beautiful indie pop that anyone can get into. Just think a more sped up American Football with a little more of a positive attitude lyrics wise. Below is their discography. The singer is now the new vocalist for This Town Needs Guns, and other members recently formed the two other bands below. I'm not sure if these dudes broke up, but if they haven't they're way overdue for an LP. Get on on this shit, and get twinkly!
-Members are also in:  This Town Needs Guns, Big Success, & Ballgame

The Holy Fucking Spirit

The Holy Fucking Spirit was an incredibly short lived screamo outfit consisting of ex-members from such tasty bands as Welcome The Plague Year, Pyramids, In First Person, Joshua Fit For Battle, Take Down Your Art & A Petal Fallen.  This trio only spit out one release containing four masterfully written tracks of memorable emotional hardcore.  Melodic, chaotic and refreshingly creative.  Download below and Dig.

Get Destroyed

Get Destroyed is an unrelenting fastcore/powerviolence band from Tempe, AZ.  These dudes are ridiculous!  Blazing riffs fill your speakers along with down-tuned fuzzy bass, crazy-fast drum skills (dude's a maniac!) and mighty harsh vox.  These guys are a must-have for any fan of powerviolence.  Their latest 7" called "Shut In" was dropped in 2011, and will tear your face off.  All their jams are rad as hell.  Everything's they've dropped is posted below.  Dig Y'all...DIG!

Vile Nation

Vile Nation is a grimey thrash punk band from Memphis, Tennessee.  Snotty, angry, dirty and especially fast hardcore punk complete with harsh snarling vocals, super-fast drums and fierce bass and guitar that blasts through riffs with a distinct twangy and thrashy sound.  Everything this band does works out brilliantly.  It's definitely some of the better degenerate/obnoxious lo-fi punk I've heard in recent years.  So far the band has three releases under their belt that I posted below.  We can only hope for more...SOOON!  Dig.
